Gosford RSL Fishing Club Competition 14/1/24

Great roll up today for our 1st competition of the year. 14 anglers fished the competition with Adam Overton taking out first place on 197 points just a scale in front of Dave Brown on 195 points and Antony O’Dwyer a close 3rd. On 182 points. There were excellent catches of Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Luderick, Teraglin, Mullet & Mud crabs.

Top Lady on the day was Tina Rennie on 31.6 points

Top Junior on the day was Ayden O’ Connor on 53 points and the second placed junior was Steven Rennie on 32.6 points

Gosford RSL Competition 10/12/23

With the nice weather 13 people fished and Adam Overton (177.4 points) came out on top in a very close competition over John Timp (174.2 points). Third was Dave Brown (159.4 points)

Top Lady on the day was Kym Russell (40.2 points)

Top Junior on the day was Toby Russell (56.6 points)

The day was also the Xmas party with Santa showing up with presents for kids

Gosford RSL Competition 26/11/23

Good turnout for our competition last weekend considering Saturday was a lousy day with showers all day. 10 competitors weighed in on the day with the top 2 only separated by 0.2 points. There were some good catches with blue swimmers, flathead, whiting, luderick & bream appearing on the scales. “MASTER CHEF” Ray Bates did a great job on the barbecue. Thanks to the Gosford RSL catering staff for supplying a delicious luncheon.

Top competitor by the smallest of margins on the day was Adam Overton with 153.0 points, followed in second place with a score of 152.8 points by Scott Russell. Antony Wardle came third with 100.6 points.

Top junior on the day was Toby Russell with 66.4 points and Ayden O’Connor was second with 29.4 points

Gosford RSL Fishing Club Comp 29/10/23

The weather was not too kind for last weeks competition but 12 dedicated anglers still fished. Top of the mens comp was Antony Wardell (the only Kiwi to win anything this weekend) with 150.4 points, second was John Timp on 144.6 points and Dave Brown was third on 84.4 points.

Top of the Ladies comp was Kim Russell with 159.8 point . Good to see Di Brown fishing again and taking second spot in the ladies comp with 50.4 points

Top fisho in the juniors comp was Toby Russell with 179.00 points (best score overall) and Aaron Brookhouse came second with 50.4 points.

Gosford RSL Fishing Club Comp 24/9/23

Another good turn-out for last weekend’s competition with 16 people fishing and there were a number of anglers all very close around the 100 point mark

. Top rod on the day was actually a junior Aiden O’Conner who scored a very impressive 104.6 points. Top in the mens comp was Dave Brown with 101 points followed in second place by John Hatcher on 100.4 points and third was Kevin Timbrell on 99.2 points.

Top lady was Noon Sirikanya on 100 points.

Gosford RSL Fishing Club Competition 27/8/23

A decent turnout for last weekend’s Gosford RSL Fishing Club Competition with 12 anglers wetting a line.

Top rod on the day was Adam Overton on a massive 343.6 points with Samar Singh Panwar second on the day with 125.25 points and Larry Prior third with 122.9 points.

Top Junior was Hayden on 81.2 points.

Dave Brown won the Lucky Angler prize.

Gosford RSL Fishing Club Competition 13/8/23

The tough weather conditions made for a low turn out for last weekends competition (4 anglers) with only Dave Brown managing to catch fish. A decent bag of Blackfish got him 89.4 points

Lucky Angler prize went to Antony Wardle which means he can buy some fish to make up for the fact he couldn’t catch any.

Gosford RSL Fishing Club Comp 30/7/23

The nice weather led to a decent turnout for last weekends competition with some good fish and weights.

Top rod on the day was Stephen Tait with 205.1 points, runner up was Adam Overton on 161.7 and third place went to Craig Ashton with 119.0 points (Assume he outfished his boat captain again)

Top lady on the day was Noon on 103.4 points

The days Lucky Angler prize went to John Hatcher which was probably some consolation after being outfished by his deckie again

Gosford RSL Comp 28/5/23

It was a good turn out for the last competition with 15 members weighing in. Top score for the comp was a regular winner Adam Overton with 234.4 points followed by Dave Brown with 131.2 points and Craig Ashton on 78.2 points.

Best lady on the day was Noon with 122.8 points and the Junior competition was won by Auden O’Connor on 40.8 points

Gosford RSL Comp 7/5/23

The weather was good and there were quite a few fisho’s out there trying to catch fish but Noon outdid them all scoring 212.5 points and easily beating her captain Kevin Timbrell on the day.
