With the weather not being too good for most of the weekend the number of anglers was down on the usual for this competition. With only 5 anglers weighing in for Gosford it was always going to be hard for Gosford to win.

Bateau Bays top 8 anglers weighed in enough fish to score 920 points and a valiant attempt by Gosford RSL saw their 5 anglers score an impressive 616.2 points.

Scott Russell taking the top overall score of the day with a score of 228.2 points and Peter Stewart weighing in a Mulloway of nearly 8 Kilos to come second overall with a score 219.50 points. Third for Gosford RSL was Dave Brown with a score of 81.5 points.

Attached are RSL and Peninsula co\mpetition  results for September

I have been compiling competition scores since 2003. In all that time the 639.2 points scored by Scott Russell in this month’s Peninsula Competition is by far the highest I have seen. Scott caught 20.7kg of kingfish, 10.7kg of salmon and 4.91kg of luderick. 

Also worthy of mention is the 457.2 points scored by Kym Russell. This is the highest points score for a woman I have seen.

This week saw the club present our annual donation to the Marine Rescue Central Coast as a thank you for the excellent service they provide in keeping the boaties of the Central Coast Safe. The cheque can be seen being presented by Di and Dave Brown and Ray Bates

With the water finally begining to clear and the weather starting to improve the turnout for last weekends club competition finally moved into double figures. The day was won quite convincingly won by Scott Russell on 309.5 points a massive 75points ahead of Adam Overton who himself posted an excellent score of 234.15 points and John Hatcher making up the top three.

Noon Knamporn took out the ladies competition on the day with 61.2 points and Toby Russell taking out the Juniors comp with 118.00 points.

The next competition is the BWCFC competition on 28th of this month with the weigh in at Lions Park

It was a good weekend for the Penguins in the last BWCFA competition, outscoring the Ocean Beach Hotel by 747 points to 371 and take the lead overall in this years competition.

Noon Knamporn won the Lady’s competition for Gosford RSL with a score of 24.3 points and Toby Russell took out the Juniors comp with 131.0 points.

The signs for a GRSLFC victory didn’t look good as the Grange weighed in multiple eskies full of large fish but in the end the RSL came out just in front to take the win helped massively by Ken Woods who top scored for the RSL with an impressive haul including two very good Snapper (see photo). Unfortunately Ken wont be here to help in future as this is his last competition due to the fact he will be moving to Queensland
